Durmon Winston Bentley

Durmon Winston Bentley, age 82, of Thomasville passed away on April 1, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 3, 1940, son to the late C.D. Bentley and Euna Collins Cash. Durmon married Darla Mattox on February 24, 1962. He worked for Coats America for 40 years and retired in 1997. In his younger days he loved to build and race cars at the Patten Speedway. He loved music. Durmon played the guitar and sang country and gospel music. He and Darla loved to take vacations fishing and camping with their lifetime friends Dot and Pete Cogland. In his last few years, he could be found on the front porch listening to his radio playing his favorite music. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Darla Bentley of Thomasville; daughters Belinda Bentley Joiner (Wayne) of Thomasville, Laura Bentley Stevenson (Mike) of Thomasville, and Donna Bentley Lamon (Stewart) of Dixie; brother Albert Jerome Bentley of Coolidge; grandchildren Cody Joiner (Trisha), Justin Highland, Amanda Payne (Levon), Brandon Marshall, Alston Stevenson, and Katie Lamon; and great-grandchildren Mackenzie Hudgins, Dillon Joiner, Hayden Joiner, Hannah Joiner, Scarlett Payne, and Barrett Payne. Durmon was preceded in death by his parents and son David Lee Bentley. The family will have a private service at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
