E. Wilburn Gibson

Services for E. Wilburn Gibson, 96, of Thomasville, are at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at First Baptist Church Chapel where he was a member. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gibson passed away March 21, 2015 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born December 24, 1918 in Thomasville, GA he was the son of the late Braxton C. Gibson, Sr. and Lula Aycock Gibson. He was married to Elsie Hicks Gibson who survives. Mr. Gibson was the superintendent for Millpond Plantation. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II and served on the Draft Board for many years. Other survivors include daughter, Lou Ellen Gibson, sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Beverly Gibson and Braxton and Sonja Gibson, five grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren and sister Sarah Jackson of Colquitt Co., GA. He was preceded in death by stepmother, Sarah Faircloth Gibson, grandchild, Jason Gibson, three brothers and one sister. Visitors may sign the online guest registry at www.allenfh.com .
