Miss Edith Dixon, a life long resident of Thomasville, GA died April 5, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery on fifth street Monday April 7, 2003 at 3p.m. The Rev. Carl Howard will officate. Miss Dixon graduated from Thomasville High School in 1937 and attended the University of Georgia graduating in 1941. She was employed as private secretary at Sunnyland Packing Company until she retired in 1982. She was a charter member of Dawson Street Methodist Church were she was an organist for over 50 years. She was active in the Pilot International Club in which she held many offices. Miss Dixon was the daughter of the late Charles Montgomery Dixon and Lillie Mae Rice Dixon. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Rice Dixon of Cuthbert, GA. Surviving her are one brother Tommy Dixon and wife Mary of Thomasville, GA, sister Mrs. Louise Plant of Athens, GA, and sister Mrs. Mary Jane Burke and brother-in-law Jim Burke of Atlanta, GA. Local nieces and nephews Charles Dixon and wife Suzanne, Sissy and Philip Faulk, and Thomas and Susan Dixon and a number of neices and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
