Edna Oxendine Jenkins

Services for Edna Oxendine Jenkins, 86, of Tallahassee are 3:30 pm, Tuesday, December 20 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Arlen Swinger and Rev. Scott Reece will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dale Jenkins, Scott Jenkins, David Jenkins, Dalton Lewand, John Swinger, Jeremy Lewand, David DeCubellis and Charles Stiles. Mrs. Jenkins passed away December 18, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare in Tallahassee. Born April 28, 1925 in Clinton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henderson Edward Oxendine and Daisy Byrd Oxendine. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Harvey Jenkins III. She served alongside her husband pastoring several churches including the Foursquare Gospel Church in Tallahassee. They especially enjoyed their ministry at Camp Courtney in Hendersonville, NC, where they served thousands of youth and pastors. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Lewand, Margaret Swinger and husband Arlen all of Tallahassee, Joseph Jenkins and wife Aimee of Santa Fe Springs, CA, Jonathan Jenkins and wife Helen of Troutman, NC; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
