Services for Edna Louise Chastain Johnson, 81, of Ochlocknee, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Richard Dodson will officiate and interment is in Little Ochlocknee Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Danny Carter, Richie Carter, Ronnie Winders, Steve Holly, Phillip Weeks and A.D. "Buddy" Weeks, II. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Hembie and Ronnie Jackson. Mrs. Johnson died Oct. 8 in Sycamore. Born, Jan. 8, 1928, in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late Rainey and Mildred Stephens Chastain. She was married to Harmon Johnson, who preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Parkway Church of God. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Martiel Johnson of Sycamore; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Freddy Buckless of Locus Grove and Judy and Dexter Sadler of Pine Park; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Wendell Johnson and Donald "Doug" Johnson; and daughter, Linda Morrell. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkway Church of God, 12748 Highway 19 South, Thomasville, GA. 31757. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
