Services for Edward Curtis Gordon of Moultrie are at 4:00PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Love and David Cone will officiate and interment is in Salem Cemetery. Mr. Gordon died May 2, 2004 at Colquitt Garden Manor. Born July 18, 1927 in Colquitt Co., GA., he was the son of the late Jeff and Della Irland Gordon. He was married to Sue Cone Gordon who survives. Mr. Gordon was a Country Music Entertainer and was involved in Country music for over 52 years. He recorded for RCA/Victor and was the winner of the Horizon Award for two years. He was voted Mr. Personality for Country Music 2 years in a row, was in the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame and was nominated for Georgia Music Hall of Fame. He attended Kennedy Chapel. Other survivors include a son Robby Gordon of FL, daughter-in-law, Debbie Gordon of Waycross, GA, stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Latrelle Cone, stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Phil Clay, Kim and Kenny Smith all of Thomasville, grandchildren, Duke Gordon of Winston-Salem, NC, Kyle Gordon of Waycross, GA, Krystal Gordon of Camilla, GA, ten step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends Guy and Ruby Jordon of Thomasville. He was married for 30 years to Grace Gordon who preceded him in death. Sisters, Ollie Belle, Myrtle Lee, Lucille Leys and brothers, Willie Jay Gordon and Carl Gordon, also, preceded him in death.
