Services for Edward C. (Johnny) Johnson, Jr., 61 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scott Alvis and Rev. Greg Souders will officiate. Mr. Johnson passed away peacefully on January 25, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born June 29, 1957 in Valparaiso, Florida, he was the son of Edward C. Johnson, Sr. and Patricia Davis Johnson, who survive. Johnny was an Air Force brat who traveled the world with his parents and sister, Pamela. He graduated from Central High School in 1976 and entered the US Army in 1982, serving in active duty until August of 1983. He served in the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1995, ranked E7. He was employed with Davco, Coats & Clark, ERS, Carbide Products, and Caterpillar as an electronics technician. He and his wife owned J & W TV Repair business, from 1997 until 2011. Johnny loved life and lived it to its fullest. He was adventurous, athletic, funny and a joy to be around. He loved to whistle, skate, dance, was a great story teller, loved to go camping, skiing, swimming and loved his family. He was briefly married to Kim Blackson. Then was married to Darleen Bailey from 1981-1991, where they had 2 children, Jeremy and Jennifer. He then married Wendy Anderson Cooper in November of 1992 and became a stepfather to her two daughters, Kelly and Lori. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Patricia; wife, Wendy Anderson Johnson; children: Jeremy Johnson and wife Jessica, Jennifer Womble and husband John, Kelly Ellis and husband Michael and Lori Souders and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Bradley, Madelyn, and Henry; aunt: Joyce Heil; cousins: Michael Scott, Linda Tate and Kim Reed; nephews: Jamie Rowe, Chris Rowe and Josh Shrout, and aunts Nel Scott and Virginia Collins. He is preceded in death by his sister, Pamela J. Anderson; grandparents, Lucille & Myron Silsby and Zella & Lurtis Johnson. He actively served in the North Florida Tres Dias Community and was a member of Crossroads at Beechton Church. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and it was his greatest desire that everyone know Jesus. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Friday, February 1 at the funeral home.
