Edwin Watson Richardson, Jr. passed away May 7, 2021 at his residence in Thomas County. Born May 4, 1930 in Tampa, Fl., he was the son of the late Daisy Bullard Richardson and Edwin W. Richardson, Sr. He moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1940 when his father and Frank Shaw, Sr. became partners in Tallahassee Ford. The families owned the dealership until it was sold in 1988. He graduated from Leon High School, Class of 1948, attended FSU and University of Florida, earning a bachelor of science in administration degree and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served 2 years in the US Navy before joining the family dealership in 1954. He served as president of the Florida Automobile Dealers Association. He was a charter member of 99, in support of those who protect. He was a patron member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was president of Tallahassee Exchange Club, a member of the Cotillion and the Colonels. He retired in 1988 and eventually moved with his wife to his farm in Georgia. Mr. Richardson was an avid sportsman, a member of the Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Richardson; 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
