A service celebrating the life of Edwyn Elbert Wolff will be held January 6, 2013, at 4pm at First Presbyterian Church, Thomasville, GA. Family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home on December 30, from 3pm to 5pm. Edwyn went to be with our Lord on December 25, 2012. He was born on November 9, 1932, in Gary, Indiana to Edwin August Wolff and Elnora Dollie Weyhe Wolff, both of whom preceded him in death. Edwyn graduated from Merrillville High School in Indiana in 1950 and served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953, serving in the Korean War.
He married Joyce Marie Miller Wolff on May 22, 1953, who preceded him in death in 1999. Edwyn's entire professional career was devoted to Borg Warner Plastics/ GE Plastics. He attended Glenville State College in WV and received his degree from Moorpark College in California. Edwyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Thomasville, GA. He served as a Deacon of his church at Vienna Baptist Church, Vienna, WV, and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Camarillo, CA.
He was a member of Kiwanis in both Georgia and California. Edwyn was a devoted husband and loved his family. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, gardening, and walking.
His wife, Ellen Edgar Wolff, whom he married November 4, 2000, survives Edwyn. Additional survivors include children and spouses: Cheryl Wolff Patterson and Morgan of Novato, CA, Sheila Wolff Curtis of Issaquah, WA, Craig E. Wolff and Tammie of Thomasville. Stepchildren and spouses: Donald Edgar and Laurie of Boca Raton, FL, Sheila Edgar Thorne of Mandeville, LA, Sean Edgar and Anna of Moultrie, GA and John Edgar of Gray, GA. Brother, Dean O. Wolff of Hobart, IN, Sister, Joy Wolff Wierman of DeMotte, IN, Sister and husband, Eunice Faye Wolff Howell and Jim of Grandville, MI and, sister in law, Kathryn West Wolff of Cypress, CA. Preceded in death by his brother David L. Wolff, brother in law, Paul Wierman, and step-daughter Robin Edgar Hodges. Surviving Uncles and Aunts: Vernon Wolff and Carol of Merrillville, IN, Lois Weyhe of Wheaton, IN, Phyllis and CW Lane of Griffith, IN, and Ruth Weyhe of Valaparaiso, IN. Grandchildren include Aaron Cavener, Brynn Cavener, Michael Curtis, Erin Curtis, Katherine Wolff, David Wolff, and Caroline Wolff and two great grandchildren.
