Graveside services for Eleanor Inez Keadle, 93, of Thomasville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday August 26th, 2020 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate.
Eleanor (sometimes called “Nez”) passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1927 in Thomasville. She was the daughter of the late O.L and Ruby Fleetwood. She married Frederick Keadle on January 30, 1943 and they enjoyed 76 years of marriage. Frederick predeceased Eleanor on August 6, 2019. Eleanor was a charter member of Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville where she served the Lord until her health declined. Eleanor taught the four and five- year-old children in Sunday School for almost 50 years. She had a beautiful voice and was active in the church choir. She often sang solos and sang at funerals and weddings when asked. She was active for many years in Dawson Street Baptist WMU and Thomas County Baptist WMU. Eleanor was a stay-at-home mom until her two daughters graduated from high school. She then worked for Neel’s Department store on the Fashion Floor for women. She later was manager of Logue’s Fashion Villa in Gateway Shopping Center. It was a great shop and people enjoyed shopping there because they knew they could always find just the right outfit. Eleanor had a great eye for fashion. Men would come shop with her to find just the right gift for their wife and she would “put something together” for them and very rarely was it returned. She also had a great gift for interior decorating. When requested, she would go to someone’s home and help them choose new furniture or accessories they already had and give their homes a brand new look. She and her two daughters had great shopping trips together through the years! But…, more than anything, she was a true and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior. She loved to read the Bible and she lived the words that she read. She was a woman who believed in the power of prayer and she lifted up prayers to her Lord every day. She was a blessing and inspiration to everyone she met. Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Eleanor June (Charles) Hair and Abbie G. Keadle of Thomasville. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit Eleanor’s online tribute page at
