Elinor Lyle Bolton Taylor

Elinor Lyle Bolton Taylor, currently a resident of Thomasville, Georgia, previously lived in Newport News, Virginia for over fifty years where she worked for a time at the Mariner?s Museum and was a first grade teacher for thirty years. She was married to the late Walter Frank Taylor, an engineer at the Hydraulics Laboratory of the Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock Company and a charter member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Thomasville. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. C. H. Bolton of Avon Park, Florida. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the St. Matthews Anglican Church of Newport News. She was a graduate of Stetson University in Florida where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and she held a Master?s Degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. A generous, creative, and beautiful Christian lady, Mrs. Taylor leaves a legacy of friendship and love through the many lives she touched. She is survived by her sister, Annette Bolton Clark and brother-in-law, R. Lewis Clark. She is survived by her nieces Carolyn Warren of St. Petersburg, Florida and S. Lynn Clark of Ellijay, Georgia; and her nephews, Charles H. Bolton of Seattle, Washington, Richard Taylor of DeLand, Florida, Floyd Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, and Eric Clark of Morganton, Georgia. The family will be receiving visitors at Allen & Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville from 7pm-8pm on Thursday, May 11. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 12 at 10:00a.m. The Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer will officiate. A graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday in DeLand, Florida.
