Elizabeth Champion

Graveside services for Elizabeth Gilbert Champion, 89, of Thomasville, will be held on Sunday, 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. David Cook will officiate. She passed away at Glenmore Nursing Home on February 8, 2019. Mrs. Champion was born December 16, 1929 to Walter and Ella Harrison Gilbert. She was married to Claude E. Champion who preceded her in death. Mrs. Champion was a spinner for Coates and Clark. She is survived by: her daughter, Janice (Steve) Beckham of Boston; her sons, Curtis Champion and Charles Champion of Thomasville; and Steve (Cindy) Champion of Thomasville. She is also survived by her sister, Hazel Keyton of Thomasville; grandchildren: Christopher (Paula) Champion, Marcus (Sabrina) Champion, Amanda Champion, Brittany Champion, Brooklyn Champion and Hope Cedeno. Besides her husband and parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her brothers, Herbert Gilbert, Ernest Gilbert, Herman Gilbert, Robert Gilbert, her sisters, Neva Shores, Lorrette Willis, and Lessie Leslie and a grandchild, Heather Champion.
