Elizabeth Ball Harden
Eight months (almost to the day) of losing her beloved husband Clyde, with whom she spent more than 68 years, Elizabeth Ball Harden – or “Boots” as she was known to many – rejoined him and her loving Father in Heaven on July 27, 2016. Elizabeth was born to Thomas Redding Ball and Bessie Lenora Green Ball on April 23, 1923, in Valdosta, Georgia and was raised in Quitman, Georgia. On May 28, 1947, she married her eternal companion Clyde Lang Harden. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Libby, Walter and Kay, whom they raised on their farm in Boston, Georgia. She was a farmer’s wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, and much more. She showed spunk and tenacity in everything she undertook. She was a deeply religious Christian and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elizabeth is survived by her brother Alfred D. Ball (now 98 years old), two daughters, Libby Peterson and Kay (Bill) Maycock, and is preceded in death by her son Walter Harden, and siblings Mildred Griner, Tommy Ball, Margaret Burke and Maxine Pritchett. Elizabeth is also survived by grandchildren Eliza (Jeff) Zollinger, Emily (Darren) Krieger, Walter (Rebekah) Maycock and Carrie (Chris) Hillier, by twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 807 Remington Ave., Thomasville, Georgia. Funeral services will follow at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Georgia following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
