Elizabeth Cone (Boots) Langley

Funeral services for Elizabeth Cone (Boots) Langley, 89, of Thomasville will be 2:00PM, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Langley passed away on July 28, 2018 at Southern Pines Senior Living Center. Born August 13, 1928 in Meigs, she was the daughter of the late William Irvin Cone and Trudie Pierson Cone. On January 14, 1949 in Meigs, she married Kenneth Eugene Langley, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2011. Mrs. Langley retired as the Office Manager at Foshalee Plantation in Tallahassee, Florida. She was actively involved with First Baptist Church until her illness stopped her from attending. She would continue to watch the Sunday service on television. She loved her Church, Grace Sunday School Class and always looked forward to serving as a greeter with her husband, at First Baptist Church. Mrs. Langley loved to travel and enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband who was the love of her life. She loved the game of golf and won several ladies golf tournaments, including winning the Glen Arven Senior Women’s Club Golf Championship. She also had the opportunity to play and stay in the Eisenhower Cabin at the Augusta National Golf Club with Mr. and Mrs. Mel Ireland. Survivors include, daughters, Glenda Langley Keller (Larry) of Memphis, TN, Kathryn (Kathy) Langley Megahee (Jack) of Thomasville, Ga; son, Dr. Kenneth (Ken) E. Langley, Jr. (Debbie) of St. Lucie Village, FL.; grandchildren, Danny Reed Browning (Jana) of Meridian, MS; Jamison Scott Megahee (Mollie) of Highland Village, TX; Andrew Walker Terry (Christy) of Panama City Beach, FL; Allison Marie Langley, Breckenridge, CO and Robert Marshall Langley, St. Lucie Village, FL; great-grandchildren, Kylie Danielle Browning, Landrie Kate Megahee, Jamison Langley Megahee and Cohen Reed Browning; and brother, Kenneth (Buddy) Cone. She was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Cone White; brothers, Oris C. Cone, W. Bernard Cone, John Robert (J. R.) Cone, Irvin N. (Junior) Cone, Raymond Carl Cone, Harold Cone. The family would like to extend special acknowledgments to Southern Pines Staff and Westcare Sitters, Tammy Vickers, Chelsea Mills, Vickie Powell Jackson and Audrey Nix. The family will receive friends 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
