Services for Elizabeth McMillan Maddox, 92 of Ochlocknee will be held at 2pm, Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate and interment will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Maddox passed away May 20, 2016 at Plantation Manor. Born December 23, 1923 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late John Griffith McMillan and Erna Vera Moore McMillan. On September 6, 1942 she married the love of her life, J.B. Maddox, who preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Maddox was a lifelong member of Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church. She loved being the librarian at Central High School and loved flowers and working in her garden. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Anne Reneau (Alan-deceased) of Canton, James (Lynn) Maddox of Ochlocknee and John (Renee) Maddox of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Tim & Maggie Reneau, Dedi & Ben Smith, JB & Jodi Barnes, Todd & Denise Maddox, Stephanie Fielding, Jessie Benton, Danielle & Philip Poole, J.R. & Anna Benton, Michelle & Mike Penny and Matt Maddox; great-grandchildren, Madison, Katie, Logan, Alli, Sara, RaeAnna, Kaylin (Zack), Taylor, Alicia, Chloe, Abby, Austin, Chevy, Colton, Elisha, Asher, John Matthew and Cheridan; Special grandchildren, DyAnne & Buddy Bodiford and Michael & Vicki Morris and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by sister, Edna Benson and brother, Fred McMillan. Her family would like to extend our special thanks to Grandma’s wonderful caregivers, Theresa, Debra, Loretta, Sallie, Katrina and Pam. They all loved her as we did. Donations may be made to Barnett's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 27 Maddox Rd, Ochlocknee, Ga 31773. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
