Services for Naomi Elizabeth (Beth) Stephenson, 95, will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Salem Baptist Church. Rev. Wayne Goff and Rev. Doug Thompson will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Stephenson, Brad Stephenson, Tyler Stephenson, Harrison Butler, Madison Strickland, Hunter Nelson, Hayes Nelson, Stone Stephenson, Shane Stephenson and Blake Stephenson; honorary pallbearers will be the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Beth was born in Lakeland, Florida on January 19, 1927 and died peacefully at her home on February 17, 2022. She was the youngest child of her parents John and Esther Wilson Simmons of Lakeland, Florida. After graduating from high school she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked at the Pentagon. On May 6,1945 she married Harold Eugene Stephenson of Boston, Georgia who was serving in the army. Following his discharge of service, the couple returned to and settled near Boston, Georgia. She became an active member of Salem Baptist Church where she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher of classes from nursery to senior citizens. For several years she was the dietitian and lunchroom manager at Central High School in Thomas County. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. She is also preceded by her husband. Survivors include sons: Ricky Stephenson (Darlene) of Pavo, GA, Randy Stephenson (Linda) of Boston, GA, Danny Stephenson (Mary), Eastman, GA. Also, nieces Raye Watkins Strickland (Paul) of Thomasville, GA, Faye Watkins Lasseter (Kenny) of Boston, GA, 15 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
