Memorial services for Elizabeth Tondee Colvin, 88, of Fayetteville, Georgia and long time resident of Thomasville, Georgia are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2008 at First United Methodist Church. 425 North Broad Street, Thomasville, Georgia. The Rev. Waymon Cleveland will officiate. She died January 28, 2008 at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, Georgia. Born, July 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Annie Belle Harper Tondee of Ellaville, Georgia. Elizabeth was married to James Minchew Colvin who precedes her in death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and involved in its many activities. She was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Working in numerous teaching positions through out her career, she fully retired after her last position with the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, James M. Colvin Jr. and Denise Colvin and granddaughter, Nicole Wafford of Fayetteville, Georgia; grandson and wife, Dr. Alex and Dana Colvin and great-granddaughter, Alexia Colvin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Angie McCorkle and Vida Markette. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Library of the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Thomasville, Georgia in her memory. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
