Services for Elvin Henry Massey, 85 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Barwick Baptist Church. Rev. Elbert Channell will officiate and interment will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Massey passed away November 19 in Gray, Georgia. Born April 18, 1931 in Barwick, he was the son of the late Ira Henry Massey and Annie Will Massey. He was married to Sarah Martin Highsmith Massey, who preceded him in death. He was a veteran on the US Army and was a graduate of Georgia Tech where he received an electrical engineering degree and a masters degree in computer programing. He retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. Mr. Massey sang tenor in church choirs, where he was a member, for many years. He sang in the Young at Heart Choir at First Baptist and Barwick Baptist Church Choir. He loved to play tennis and played in the ALTA league when he lived in Atlanta. He was also an avid gardener. He is survived by his children Bryan Henry Massey and his wife Belinda of Alexandria, Indiana and Andrea Sue Simmons and her husband Raymond of Macon; grandchildren Kelly Lynn Seabolt, Sumner Bentley Harris and wife Chanda Renee, and Emily Suzanne Harris; great-grandchildren, Jace Austin Seabolt, Rylee Lynn Seabolt and Kaden Mathew Feather. He was preceded in death by his brother James Robert Massey and sister Deryl Massey Gunn. His family will receive friends from 5-7pm, Tuesday, November 22 at the funeral home.
