Elwood Sellers,77 of Cairo passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2024. He was born on May 16, 1947, in Cairo to the late Frank Sellers and Philestine Williams.
Elwood loved horses. In his younger years, he would trail ride with friends on horseback & entered events at horse shows at the Cairo Saddle Club. In his older years, he trained his horses to pull buggies & carriages for fun and also for wedding occasions. He was also passionate about watching professional wrestling. He enjoyed spending time and playing games with family, grandchildren, and friends.
He is survived by his only child, his daughter Lisa Sellers Little (Robert) of Canton; grandchildren Alison Little, Michelle Little, and Matthew Little; great-grandchildren Lucas & Chance Little and first girl Lainey Gray expected in Dec. 2024; sisters Judy Lane of Thomasville, Mary Makrynakis (Theo) of Fort Myers, Marsha Sellers Montgomery of Alabama, Janice Carr of Cairo, and Susan Ulmer (Tracy) of Cairo.
He is preceded in death by his father Frank Sellers, Mother Philestine Williams, and sister Diane Guthrey.
A service will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 2 pm at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel with David Cook officiating.
