Funeral services for Emmett Harold King will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Pullen and Rev. Mike Keown officiating. Interment will be in Big Ochlocknee cemetery. Mr. King died August 31, 2003 at Hospitality Care Nursing Home. He was born on May 4, 1916 in Wilcox Co., Ga.to Preston Edward King and Annie Bell Miller King who both preceded him in death. Mr. King was a veteran of World War II, a retired farmer, grocery store owner and was a lifetime Bluegrass musician. He was a very accomplished fiddle player and won several competitions. He was first married to Alice Juanita Johnston King and later married Eva Mae Wood King who both preceded him in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law William Harold and Margaret King of Coolidge, Emmett Edward and Ellen King of Thomasville, Odus Darrell and Susan King of Coolidge; several step-children; grandchildren Rhonda Stamps, Melanie King, Neil King, Katherine King, Daniel Emmett King; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother W.B. ''Dub'' King of Homerville, Ga., sisters Alice Cordelia ''Deal'' Zeigler of Cecil, Ga., Annie Louvenia Harrison of Cairo, Mary Lyndal Gainous of Hahira Ga.; he was preceded in death by his grandson Harold Lee King, brother J.E. ''Buddy'' King, sisters Ruby Pearl ''Tis'' Sewell, and Zader Mae King. Memorials may be made to the Ochlocknee Baptist Church.
