Long time Propane Gas Executive passes away. Mr. Emory E. Heald left this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
A visitation will be held in the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 25th from 5:00-7:00 PM. Services will be held in the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 AM with a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately after.
He is survived by Children, Glenn Heald, Cynthia Morris, Sharon Holcombe (Phillip), and Gary Heald. Stepchildren, Ricky Eastham and Tony Hunter. Grandchildren, Brandy Snyder (Jon), Ashley Busby, Whitney Howell (Matt), Andrew “Andy” Heald (Suzannah), Thomas Heald and Zackery Morris. Step Grandchildren, Candy Braswell (Matt), Chris Eastham, Chelsie Eastham, Eric Hunter, Alex Hunter and 15 great grandchildren.
He was the youngest son of Tom and Madge Heald.
He is proceeded in death by his Father, Tom Heald, Mother, Madge Heald, Wife, Betty Jo Heald and Grandson, Joshua “Josh” Heald.
He served in the National Guard and U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was discharged honorably in 1957. He earned three good conduct metals.
Mr. Heald served 30 years and 11 months in the gas industry in various positions ranging from Bookkeeper in 1958 to General Manager in 1997. Along the way he earned several awards for safety, sales and Manager of the Year. He was a certified Safety Instructor for Vehicles. At one time, he supervised 21 plants in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. He held a license for volumetric prover in all three states. He was a master gas piper fitter and master carpenter.
He was a graduate of Thomas Technical School earning degrees in HVAC, where he held a Georgia license, and Accounting.
He was a Master Mason of the Thomasville Lodge 369 and a Shriner of the Thomasville Shrine Club serving as President in 2012.
He was a gospel singer with Glory Road for many years and continued to sing at various nursing homes right up to just before his death. He was a hospice volunteer at one time.
He was a member of Rose City Church of God in Thomasville.
