Emrette Toole Watt

Services for Emrette Toole Watt will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate. Mrs. Watt, on February 5th, 2018 went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was born August 6, 1929 in Cochran, Georgia to Dr. Charles L Toole and Emrette Aven Toole. Emrette graduated from Clearwater High School in 1947 and in 1951 received a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Georgia. She met George D Watt in Thomasville in the fall of 1951 and they married on October 27, 1952. Emrette taught elementary school in Albany, GA, South Pasadena, CA, Ralston, NE, and Orlando, FL. She loved teaching but decided to stay home with her 3 young sons. In 1985 Emrette and George returned to Thomasville GA and settled here. She celebrated 65 years of marriage with George this past October. Emrette’s gentle spirit, caring heart, and genuine love for her Lord Jesus Christ impacted many lives. Learning about and living an active and healthy lifestyle was a priority throughout her life. She truly loved her family which included her sons Lanier (deceased 1980), Kenneth, and John, along with her daughter in laws, Janet and Michelle and 5 grandchildren; Joshua (fiancée Caroline), Christopher, Jonathan (wife Hannah), Laura (husband Matthew), and Lindsay (deceased 2011). In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be given to Angelwood Inc, PO Box 24925, Jacksonville, FL 32241 (angelwoodjax.org), an organization that served Lindsay, her special needs granddaughter, who held a special place in her heart. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
