Epifania G. Hester

A funeral mass for Epifania G. Hester, 87, of Thomasville will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she was a member. Father Victor Siedel will officiate and internment will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Thomasville. Mrs. Hester died on May 7, 2011 in Fairfax, VA. Born July 12, 1923 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Anselmo and Augustina Caluza Gundran. She was married to the late Edward Hester. Mrs. Hester was a homemaker. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and in 2007 was given the Garland Award by the Diochese of Savannah. She volunteered at nursing homes and worked with the shut ins and elderly. She is survived by a sister, Laureana Abenes of the Philippines, nieces Romela Yumping of VA and Leila Vales of Saudi Arabia and nephews Edgar Abenes and Samuel Abenes of the Philippines. She was also survived by Betty and Charles Gabriel, Bryan Small, Dr. Arthur Forrest and all loved ones. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Tuesday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
