Ernest "Biff" Hobbs

Mr. Ernest “Biff” Hobbs died at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia at the age of 64. Biff is survived by his wife, Dottie; Daughter, Ashley Hobbs Finch; Son-in-Law, Jamie Finch. Grandchildren: Whittier Hobbs Finch, Amelia Catherine Finch, and Adeline Margaret Finch. Mother-In-Law: Sue Ferrell; Siblings: Marcy and Rick Nix; Sidney and Brenda Hobbs; David and Melanie Ferrell; Kathy and John Chambers. Nieces/Nephews: Walter and Heidi McDaniel; Kealon and Kimberly Nix; Amelia Chambers; Matthew Ferrell; Hannah Ferrell; Madison Hobbs; He is preceded in death by his Daughter, Holly Hobbs of Pavo, Parents, Mildred and Ernest Hobbs of Pavo, and Father-In-Law Billy R. Ferrell of Thomasville. Biff was born on September 3, 1951 in Moultrie, Georgia to Mildred and Ernest Hobbs. He graduated from Central High School in 1969 followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in history education from Georgia Southern University. He received a Master’s degree in education from Valdosta State University. He married Dottie Ferrell, in 1973. Biff retired after many years from Cotton States Insurance Agency. Biff was dedicated to his Christian faith and reached people outside of the church in the community. He was a determined individual who loved developing personal relationships with people and who was passionate about sharing his testimony. He was an ordained deacon of First Baptist Church, Thomasville. Biff was a girls’ softball coach and served on the Thomasville Recreation Board for many years. He was instrumental in securing funds for multiple recreational projects in Thomas County. The family will receive friends and family Saturday, November 21 at Allen and Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville from 4:00-6:00 PM. A celebration is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Holly Hobbs #7 Ball Park in Pavo. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Biff's life.
