Ernest R. "Grumpy" Mcclelland

Graveside services for Ernest R. (Grumpy) McClelland, 78 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate. Mr. McClelland passed away January 30, 2019 at Archbold Hospital. Born February 11, 1940 in Douglas, Georgia, he was the son of the late Warren P. McClelland and Eula Lee Strickland McClelland. He was married to Martha Crozier McClelland, who survives. He was a pharmacist by trade, working for CVS for 40 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, sailing and Georgia Bulldog football. He is survived by his wife; children, Shannon McClelland of Thomasville, Stephanie Spitzer and husband Dave of Thomasville, son, Roan McClelland and wife Jamie of Ooltewah, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Max Baker, Karli McClelland, Adam McClelland, Rigney McClelland and Hutch McClelland; brother, Sidney McClelland of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by brother, Ronald McClelland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YMCA of Thomasville, 103 Dawson St, Thomasville, Ga 31792. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Friday, February 1, 2019 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
