Services for Esma Nadine Crosby Ruff, 73, of Thomasville, are at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gary Conger will officiate and interment is in Cool Spring Cemetery in Colquitt County. Pallbearers are Clay Beach, Jimmy Singletary, Daniel Conger, Nelson Casteel, Wayne Gillis and Chip Carden. Mrs. Ruff died Oct. 20 in Brunswick. Born, Oct. 25, 1935, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mary Catherine Newton Crosby. She was married to Arthur Ruff, who preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Patsy Singletary and husband, Jimmy of Thomasville and Rachel Conger and husband, Rev. Gary of Baxley; sister, Mary Kathleen Casteel of Moultrie; grandchildren, Angel Gillis, Chip Carden, Amber Carden, Andi Greene, Amy Conger Beach, Lori Conger, Valerie Conger, Daniel Conger, Stacey Ruff and Shawn Ruff; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Sammy E. Ruff; brother, George Crosby; and sister, Ruth Peters.
