Esther Mae Sherrod

Funeral services for Esther Mae Sherrod of Merriville, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel with interment in Big Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh Rockett will officiate. Mrs. Sherrod died peacefully December 31, 2004 at her residence with her family by her side. Born on January 16, 1930 in Cook Co. Ga. she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Louise NeSmith Smith. She was married to Chester Franklin Sherrod who died on August 13, 1997. Mrs. Sherrod was a homemaker where she was an avid gardner and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a member of the Merriville Baptist Church and was a mother to everyone who know her. Survivors include her daughter Patricia Louise Smith of Thomasville, brothers Buddy Tyson of Coolidge, Troy Tyson of Adel, Ga., Howard Tyson of Thomasville, sisters Janie McDonald of Winter Garden, Fl, Betty Jean Tyson of Thomasville, grandchildren Patrick L. Smith of Boston, Ga., Melissa June of Thomasville, Veronica Kreznar of Pavo, Ga., Ronnie L. Smith of Merriville, Ga., and 9 great grandchildren.
