Eugene Esmer Willis

Services for Eugene Esmer Willis, 79, of Meigs GA. will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 23, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church in Meigs where he was a member. Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate and internment will be at Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Mr. Willis was the son of the late Herbert Esmer Willis and mother, Grace Leona Peak Willis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and he served as commander and member of honor guard of American Legion. Mr. Willis was retired from Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, TX after 29 years of service, he then followed his lifelong dream and returned back home to Georgia to take care of his mother and the family farm. Survivors include sons, Michael Eugene Willis of Brazoria, TX, Steven Herbert Willis of Lake Jackson, TX.; grandchildren include Kristin, Amy, Jennifer, Tommy, Jon, Michelle, and Rachel; three great grandchildren, Elise Victoria, Lily Abigail and Kailee Grace and special friend Jeannine Daniel of Pavo, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Emily Foster, Olivia Evans, and Lell Young. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Midway Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1, Meigs, Ga 31765 or American Legion post Number 265, P.O. Box 68, Ochlocknee, Ga 31773. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00 am at Midway Baptist Church.
