Born September 25, 1934 in Thomas Co., GA he was the son of the late Hiram and Minor Griffin Mercer. On May 12, 1957 in Quitman, GA he married Dorothy Eleanor Wood Mercer who survives. Mr. Mercer was the former owner of Gene?s Garage in Pavo. Other Survivors include sons, Dan Mercer, Jerry McClelland both of Pavo, Dempsey McClelland of Central America, daughter, Joyce McClelland Peterson of Thomasville, son, David McClelland of Pavo; brothers, Carl Mercer of California, Noah Mercer, Ray Mercer both of Thomasville; grandchildren, Kristie McClelland Stailey, Leighn Ann McClelland Shoemaker, Chris McClelland, Justin Cox, Julie ?Mae? Sharber, Mandy Sharber Jackson, Kelli McClelland, Shelby McClelland, Stewart McCelland; great grandchildren, Seth Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Kenne Linton, Kaylee Williams, Cheyenne Jones, Gage Stailey, MaKenzie McClelland, Levi McClelland, Shea Shoemaker and man?s best friend, Scooter.
