Eugene Love Wilson

The funeral service for Eugene Love Wilson will be held on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Thomasville at 11 AM with Pastor Marty Carnes officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 10-11 AM before the service at First Baptist. Mr. Wilson passed away at home on December 5, 2018 in Thomasville, Georgia. He was born on January 26,1930 in Birmingham, AL, the son of the late Marvin Edward Wilson and the late Lucille Love Wilson of Birmingham, AL. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham and the Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He worked in the Welding/Engineering field for over 40 years. He served his country in the United States Navy. He has also loved and served the Lord faithfully in his local churches, as well as the Gideon Ministry. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grand-father whom we all loved, admired, and respected. He will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Janet Winn Wilson of Thomasville; daughter Leah (Hoover) Hodge of Niceville, FL; daughter Carey (Tony) Chester of Cartersville, GA; son Stuart Wilson of Atlanta, GA; and son Sam (Terri) Wilson of Hoschton, GA; 9 grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Marvin E. Wilson of Birmingham, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gideon International, P.O. Box 2361, Thomasville, GA, 31799.
