Evelyn Irene Gordon

Graveside service for Evelyn Gordon will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Boston City Cemetery with Rev. Tim Phillips officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Evelyn Irene Gordon, age 88, passed away on August 6, 2022, at Camellia Gardens. She was born on December 7, 1933, a daughter to the late George and Katie Owens. She was a Boston High School graduate and went on to be a secretary for Thomas County Courthouse. She was also a member of Boston Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed sitting on her porch greeting her friends, and loved spending Saturdays with her family. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Steve Gordon; daughters Lynn Henley and Jill (Rankin) Smith; grandchildren Jered Smith, Staci (Francesco) Scordato; Ben (Kaitlyn) Palmer, Kahlan Donalson, and Leila (Dylan) Henderson; great-grandchildren Bella Randazzo, Gavin Scordato, Layla Henderson, Ava Henderson, and Shelby Kate Palmer; brother Larry (Stephanie) Owens; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.R. Gordon Jr., and siblings Theron Owens, George Owens and Joyce Collins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Boston Cemetery (PO Box 147, Boston, GA 31626).
