Faye Fletcher King, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and esteemed educator, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on March 27, 1945, in Thomasville, Ga to the late Leroy Fletcher and Lillie Mae Williams Fletcher.

Survivors include her husband, Don King; children, Bryant King (Amy) of Tallahassee and Julie Eaton (Johnny) of Johns Creek, Ga; grandchildren, Will King, Thomas King, Taylor Eaton, and Mason Eaton; brother, Ellis Fletcher (Mahala), sisters-in-law, Barbara Fletcher and Pam Fletcher, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her late parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Fletcher, twin brother Ray Fletcher, and sister-in-law Sandy Priest.

Faye earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Valdosta State University. She further pursued her passion for teaching and leadership, earning her Master’s degree in Education Administration from Valdosta State University. For 24 years, Faye made a significant impact on the lives of many students in Thomasville City Schools. She began her career as a 3rd-grade teacher at Jerger Elementary School, later served as an assistant principal at MacIntyre Park Middle School, and spent the last 10 years of her career as the principal of Jerger Elementary School before retiring in 2005. Her dedication to education was matched only by her love for Jesus and her family.

On June 13, 1965, Faye married the love of her life, Don King, at Westside Baptist Church. Together, they shared 60 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love and mutual support. Faye was not only a devoted wife but also a nurturing mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. She was known for her genuine heart, unwavering faith, and boldness as a prayer warrior.

A faithful member of Dawson Street Baptist Church for 55 years, Faye was actively involved in various ministries. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and played a vital role in the children's ministry, and Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). In addition, she served as a trustee for Lifeway Ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention.

In her spare time, Faye enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with friends and family. She also had a compassionate heart for the community, leading the Women’s Prison Ministry.

A service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Dawson Street Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Lee Waller. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service.
