Funeral services for Fleta Ann Umphurs will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday May 25, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Horne officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Lee Roberts, John O'Neal Roberts, Eric Christopher Grubb, Ben Tracy, Adam Rogers, Barry Percy. Mrs. Umphurs died Saturday May 22, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born on August 31, 1940 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Brady and Warren and Louise Warren. After their death she was raised by "Big Moma" Eula Bell and Hardy Nelms. She was retired from Sunnyland Packing Co., and was a member of Rose City Church of God. She was known as "Moma" by many children and was loved by many and will be missed by all. Survivors include her husband Lee Mack Umphurs of Thomasville, daughters and sons-in-law Seretha and Ricky Roberts of Carnsville, Ga, Deborah and Wayne Fletcher of Thomasville; son and daughter-in-law Steve D. and Brenda Burkett Rogers of Thomasville, sons Richard D. Rogers of Thomasville, Jackie D. "Jack" Rogers of Buffalo, NY; brother Lamar Nelms of Kansas City, Missouri, brothers and sisters-in-law Clinton and Pearl Nelms of Americus, Ga., Phillip and Fran Warren of Jacksonville, Fl.; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by brothers David Warren and Rogers Nelms; sister Hilda Howze; daughter Gloria Rogers Hogan. The family will recieve friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Guest may sign the online register book at www.allenfh.com .
