Frances Anita Smith
Services for Frances Anita Smith, 74, of Patten, will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Born August 21, 1934, in Ozell, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Bennett and Edna Mae Stickland.
On March 28, 1952, in Pavo, Georgia, she married Richard Russell Smith, who survives.
They made their life farming on the Smith family farm in Patten. She loved and learned much from her mother-in-law, the late Pearl G. Smith. Mrs. Smith was a loving wife and mother. A homemaker, she was devoted to her husband and children. She spent the majority of her life serving others. She most enjoyed preparing meals and serving family and friends around their kitchen table. As a member of Kennedy Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, she taught children's Sunday School.
She is also survived by her son, Ricky Smith and wife, Sharon, daughter, Margie Simmons and husband Jeff, and son, Jody Smith and wife Amy, all of Pavo, eight grandchildren, Jason Niki Smith, Randi Jay Sellers, Ashley David Deickmann, Chad Simmons, Lance Simmons, Miranda Simmons, J. Ben Smith, and Georgia Smith, three great-grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Ty Smith, Katelyn Sellers.
Also surviving are sister Virginia Boles and husband, Frank, brother W. B. Junior Strickland and wife, Virginia, brother Durwood Strickland and wife, Annie, and sister Hazel Bridges and husband Tony.
Pall Bearers will be Jason Smith, Lance Simmons, J. Ben Smith, Jonathan Goodson, Danny Smith, Alan Smith, and Mark Monk. The Honorary Pall bearers are Tommy Smith, Jackie Heirs, Pete Sherrod, Bobby Hunter, Donald McDowell, Charles May and Vernon Tinsley.
The visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
