Frances Geneva Stewart Willis, 86, formerly of Thomasville, died peacefully at home in Chula, Georgia, on Thursday, July 25, 2019. A celebration of her life will be held at the chapel of Allen & Allen Funeral Home, Thomasville at 2:00 PM. on Saturday, July 27, 2019. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019, starting at 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Thomasville. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Joseph Willis, Chris Harrell, Trey Ezell, Dylan Vann, Ethan Sammons, John Bradford and Jacob Jacobs. Frances is survived by her children, William Allan (β€œAl”) Willis (Dee) of Vienna; Melanie Willis Humphries (Glenn) of Cairo; Kim Willis Bradford (Johnny) of Chula; Joseph Stewart Willis (Dianna) of Piedmont, SC; and Kaye Willis Sammons (Keith) of Thomasville. There are 12 grandchildren, Joseph Willis (Lindsey), Jason West, Jacob Jacobs, Lauren Humphries Ezell (Trey), Austin Humphries Harrell (Chris), John Bradford (Amy), Rose Bradford, Kenneth Willis (Gabrielle), Will Willis, Phillip Willis (Olivia), Sarah Sammons, Ethan Sammons, and 6 Great Grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her stepmother, Juanita Stewart, of Cairo. Frances was born on March 5, 1933 in Grady County, Georgia to Horace B. & Essie Singletary Stewart. Mrs. Willis married William Joseph (Joe) Willis on March 28, 1953, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1991. She worked at Southwestern State Hospital, as a clerk in the Housekeeping/Laundry department, retiring in 1993 after 27 years of service. After retirement, Mrs. Willis was a Hospice volunteer in Thomasville for several years. She loved to read, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved being called MeMe. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chula, after moving to Chula to live with her daughter Kim and family, in 2014. The family would like to express a special thanks to Emery Gibbs, for her love and special care given to MeMe during her illness. A thank you is extended to the employees of Homestead Hospice of Tifton for their special care, as well.
