Services for Frankie Mae Boland Blanchard ?Aunt Frankie?, of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at First Baptist Church Chapel. The Rev. Don McMillan will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Dukes, Christopher MacDonald, Tyler Rogers, Drake Shierling, Steve Shierling and John W. Harris, Jr.. Mrs. Blanchard died July 24 2005. Born October 28, 1916 in Wadley, GA she was the daughter of the late Sannie Carter Boland and Rev. Cornelius Chesterfield Boland. She was married to Preston Jerome Blanchard who preceded her in death. Mrs. Blanchard grew up on a farm near Coolidge, GA and graduated from Coolidge High School in 1936. In 1940, she received her nursing degree from Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta. She worked as a nurse in the Atlanta, GA area for sixty years and retired to Thomasville in 2002. Her distinguished career as a nurse included employment as a visiting nurse, an operating room supervisor, a nurse at doctors? offices, and a private home care nurse. Survivors include nephews, Dr. Neil and Stella Boland of Stuart, FL, Dale and Linda Boland of Thomasville, Robert and Sherry Boland of Calhoun, GA; nieces, William and Lisa Watson of Thomasville, Jeannie Boland Knight; great nieces Beth and Chuck Tillie of Calhoun, GA, Amy and Matt Dukes, Britney Boland, Whitney Boland all of Thomasville, great nephews, James Boland of Calhoun, Neil Boland, III, Jonathan Boland both of Stuart, FL; great great nephews, Austin Boland and Andrew Tillie. She was preceded in death by brothers, Neil Boland, Sr., Lamar Boland and Mallory Boland. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Wednesday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
