Graveside service for Fred Bass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Boston City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Fred Bass, age 84, passed away on February 3, 2022, at his residence. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Valdosta, son to the late Arthur and Clara Bass. Fred married Emily Imogene Speer on June 2, 1956, in Clyattville. Fred was a member of Ochlawilla Baptist Church and Boston Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a longtime plantation supervisor at Seminole Plantation. Prior to being at Seminole Plantation he managed River Bend Plantation and Welaunee Plantation. He was also a former dog trainer. Fred loved being outdoors, especially working on his yard and house. Survivors include son Jeffrey Fred Bass; grandsons Colby Brinson, Stephen Caleb Kennedy, Landon Bass; great-grandchildren Emilee Brinson, Kaylee Brinson, Aimee Brinson, Addie, Brayden and Chase; brother Edward Bass; wife Mavis M. Parks; and sisters-in-law Laverne Dandrea and Mildred Jackson. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Emily Imogene Bass (08/18/2012), daughter Emily Susan Bass Hale (08/06/2013), and sister Sherry Ann Wadsworth.
