Garnett Ison Johnson passed away May 27, 2012. Garnett was born in Kentucky on March 30, 1931, but lived most of her life in Indiana and Greenwood, South Carolina. She moved to Thomasville to be near family in her last years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Johnson and son, Jay Hatfield. Survivors include; her son Douglas Hatfield of Atlanta, two grandsons; Casey Douglas and Michael Johnson Jr. two step-children; Wayne and his wife Addie Johnson, Mike Johnson of Greenwood, South Carolina, two brothers; Walter Ison of Madison, Indiana and George David Ison of Atwell, Indiana, two sisters; Margie Comer and Janet O'Neal of Thomasville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church where she had many dear friends. Garnett loved her church and pastor.
Garnett had requested that there not be a service for her. She will be transferred to Greenwood, South Carolina for burial
