Gary Stephen "Steve" Griffin

Memorial service for Gary Stephen (Steve) Griffin, 74 of Thomasville, Ga will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11am at Allen and Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Pastor Paul Ballard will officiate. Mr. Griffin passed away January 1, 2026 at Archbold Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Griffin was born March 30, 1951 in Gainesville, Ga. He was the son of the late Bernice Edward and Peggy Lucille Griffin. On January 30, 2015 he married Diane Allen Griffin who survives. Mr. Griffin was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1971-1974. He spent his career as a Farrier, serving many loyal clients who became great friends. Mr. Griffin's favorite thing to do and life's passion was taking his family and friends saltwater fishing and showing them the ropes. He loved being "a thousand miles from nowhere." He never met a stranger in people or animals. Other survivors included sons Matthew Stephen Griffin (Jessica Abernathy) of Thomasville, Ga, Brett Stephen Griffin (Amanda Waller) of Valdosta, Ga, daughter Anna Lucille Griffin of Thomasville, Ga, stepson and daughter in law Ashley and Megan Palmer of Thomasville, Ga, stepdaughter and son in law April and David Steinberg of Jacksonville, FL, Brothers and sisters in law Ronny and Barbara Griffin, Johnny and Judy Griffin all of Coolidge, Ga, sister Kitty Lee of Thomasville, Ga, grandchildren Collins, Harris, Eisley, Ella, Chance, Catie, Bentley, Julie and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at their residence on Friday, January 2 from 5-7pm. Memorials may be made to Miss. Kitty's Feline Sanctuary in Thomasville, Ga. Go Gators!
