Gene Herschel Phillips

Gene Herschel Phillips, age 70, of Whigham, passed away on January 20, 2023, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Gene Herschel was born on February 9, 1952, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Lou Alma Jones and Green Phillips. On February 17, 1977, Herschel Phillips married the love of his life, Lois "Lottie" Fincannon. Herschel retired from the city of Cairo as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Phillips was survived by his wife; children Gregory Paul Phillips (Jodi) and John Travis Phillips, ex-daughter-in-law Kelly Phillips; grandchildren Ariah, Taylor, Hunter, Allie, Dawson, and Linden; and siblings Jim Phillips (Linda) and Willie (Bill) Green Phillips; as well as a special niece Mary Phillip Hayes and a host of other special nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Aiden Glen Phillips. Services will be held at a later date.
