Gene Poulk

Services for Alvin Eugene Poulk, Jr. will be held on Saturday, September 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Holland will officiate the service. Gene passed away on September 3rd, 2019 in Atlanta, GA. Born on August 29th, 1949 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Alvin Eugene Poulk Sr. and late Fannie Mae Zeigler Poulk. He worked at Southwestern State Hospital for a number of years. He was also self-employed as a musician, where he played with Blackwood Brothers, Joe Stampley, and many other professional bands. He had a passion for music, and he loved to rebuild boats. He is survived by his siblings, Sandy Kirkley of Marietta, GA, Gary Poulk of Simpsonville, SC, Richard Poulk (Beth) of Thomasville, GA; nieces, Talia King (Travis) of Marietta, GA, Stacy Wilson (Robert) of Thomasville, GA, Stephanie Simmons (Lance) of Thomasville, GA; nephews, Stephen Kirkley (Marsha) of Atlanta, GA, Samuel Poulk of Thomasville, GA. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. before the service at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
