Services for Gene Rogers of Thomasville are at 2:00PM on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Heritage Church in Moultrie, GA where he was a member. The Rev. John Eubanks and Rev. Jimmy Albritton will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Rogers/Whatley Care Group, Heritage Mission Teams and Thomasville Exchange Club. Mr. Rogers died September 10, 2010 at Plantation Manor. Born October 4, 1944 in Thomasville he was the son of the late Wiley Eugene Rogers and Mildred Rogers of Thomasville who survives. On August 21, 1966 in Metcalfe, GA, he married Mary Jacquelyn Jackie Roddenberry Rogers who survives. Mr. Rogers was a retired District Sales Manager for Conwood Corp. He was a 1963 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Thomasville Exchange Club. He was on the Heritage Church Missions Board and went on 2 mission trips to Honduras and 8 mission trips for the Hurricane Katrina Relief in Mississippi and Louisiana. Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Jill Rogers of Minneapolis, NC and Norwood and Pam Rogers of Dawson, GA, grandchildren, Leedia Rogers, Lani Rogers, Christian Rogers, Parker Rogers and Griffin Rogers, brother and sister-in-law, Dannie and Debra Rogers and sister, Judy Davis all of Thomasville and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Candlestick Retreat Center, P. O. Box 38, Minneapolis, NC 28652. The family will received friends from 5-7PM on Sunday in the Funeral Chapel.
