Services for Genette Morris Brown, 81 of Thomasville will be held 11:00 am, Friday, August 31, 2012 at Dawson Street Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darrell Collins, Heath Cross, Chris Duncan, Patrick Brown, A.J. Brown and Wyatt Busbee. Honorary pallbearers will be the Victory Sunday School Class members. Mrs. Brown passed away peacefully August 28, 2012 at her residence. Born March 2, 1931 in TyTy, Ga; she was the daughter of the late Joseph Glenn Morris and Susan Annie Smith Morris. She was married to David J. Brown for 63 years who preceded her in death in May 2012. She was a devout Christian with an abiding faith in God. She was devoted and faithful to her husband and a wonderful mother whose unconditional love for her children never wavered. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, camping, fishing, reading, baking, sewing, and celebrating her faith in God. She never met a stranger and always greeted people with her sweet, friendly smile and beautiful blue eyes. She is survived by her children, Dennis Brown, Bobby Brown and wife Diane all of Thomasville, Peggy Duncan and husband Tommy of Moultrie and Lisa Hevey and husband Brinton of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Amie, Lee, Blythe, Patrick and wife Mel, A.J., Chris, Kellie and husband Heath and Bace; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Graham of Thomasville and brother Wayne Morris and wife Alice of Grady, Co and numerous nieces, nephews, sister & brother-in-laws. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114 A. Mimosa Dr, Thomasville, Ga 31792 or Dawson Street Baptist Church, 1025 N. Dawson St, Thomasville, Ga 31792. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 30 at Allen & Allen funeral home. Guests may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com
