Services for George Fragakis will be Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:30AM at the Holy Mother of God Creek Orthodox Church, 1645 Phillips Road, Tallahassee, FL. Interment will follow at 12:30PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, GA. The Rev. Fr. Alexander Chetsas will officiate. Mr. Fragakis passed away Sunday, August 20, 2006 at his home on the Aucilla River with his family at his side following a lengthy battle with cancer. George, born on September 8, 1932, was the son of the late Arthur and Anastasia Fragakis of Klapsion, Greece. He immigrated to the United States in 1950, fell in love, and married Janette Nichols in 1956. He and his wife, formerly of Thomasville, Georgia were well known and respected in the business community for many years before retiring to the Aucilla River in 1984. George never met a stranger and was a renowned outdoorsman and legendary fisherman. Mr. Fragakis is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Janette, three daughters and sons-in-law, Staci and Ralph Lloyd of Yorkville, Stella and John Hankinson of Waleska, Cindy and Massimo Pistelli of Valdosta, and a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Angie Fragakis of Wake Forest, North Carolina. He is also survived by seven loving grandsons, Ryan Lloyd, Will and Scott Hankinson, Giuseppe and Vito Pistelli, and Nick and Jake Fragakis; a sister, Helen Granos, and two nephews, Athanasiou and Fini Granos, of Greece. Family visitation and Trisagion will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 from 6-8PM at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Thomasville, Georgia. Memorials may be made to Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, 116 Mimosa Dr., Thomasville, GA 31792 or to the American Cancer Society, Inc., P.O. Box 1201, Albany, GA 31702.
