George D. Tashie

Services for George D. Tashie of Thomasville will be held at East Side Baptist Church where he was a member at 11:00am on Tuesday June 18, 2013. Pastor Tim Robson will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. George went to be with the Lord June 16, 2013 surrounded by his family in his home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Mildred Rose Tashie YiaYia. Born March 18, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Demetre Tashie and Evloxia Sinos Tashie. He was in the baking industry for 45 years and with Flowers Foods since 1977. George was a constant source of encouragement & joy to every person he came in contact with. His love for God was evident through the love he showed to every person he met. His legacy will live on through his children & grandchildren and he will always be remembered as the best Papou ever. He is survived by his sons, Joe Tashie and wife, Kathy of Waxhaw, NC, Jim Tashie and wife, Melinda of Thomasville and daughter, Eve Tashie Adams and husband, David of Thomasville, GA, grandchildren, Luke Tashie and wife Laura, Arik Tashie, Christina Tashie Clawson and husband Steven, Tyler Miller, Hannah Tashie, Michael Adams, Emily Adams, Olivia Adams, Stephanie Adams, Stephen Adams and Catie Adams, great grandchildren, Evelyn Tashie, Isabel Tashie, Clara Tashie, Ryder Miller and Sophia Clawson; sister, Irene Tashie Schultz of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Chris Tashie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, John Tashie and brother-in-law, Donald Schultz.
