Thomasville, GA – George Fulghum, 71, of Ochlocknee, passed away on Monday, February 9th 2026. George was born on July 4th, 1954 in Camilla, to the late Luther Fulghum and Sarah Virginia Reese Riggs.
In his teen years George worked at Hatcher Seafood and at the original local Dairy Queen until it burned down. At the age of 17, George enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country for 11 years. While in the Navy, George earned his GED. When George left military service, he worked for the Civil Service for several years before joining his brother to work at his business, Satellite One. George also worked at Sunnyland until their closure in 2000, after which, he worked at Caterpillar until his retirement.
On December 19th, 1998 George was married to Peggy Linsley at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. They shared 27 years of loving marriage together. George’s many hobbies included going gambling with his brother, visiting the dog racing tracks, and playing golf. Above all, George loved his family. He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Peggy Fulghum, George is survived by his children, Kelly Dunlap Fulghum, of Ochlocknee, Jimmy Jordan, of Ochlocknee, Kimberly Jordan, of Thomasville, Sarah Fulghum, of Ochlocknee; his grandchildren, Hailey Dunlap, Christian Dunlap, Cameron Hairston, Jordan Nelson, Nicholas Bowen, and Blaze Darley; his siblings, Rhonda Christo, of Cumming, Teresa Morrison, of Powell, Tennessee, Jackie Henry, of Monroe, Louisiana, and Steve Cooper, of Albany.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his siblings, Tommy Stilwell, Laverne Goodhue, and Thomas Glen; his son, James N. Fulghum, and his grandson, Victor Lee.
George’s family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, February 13th from 5:00-7:00PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
