George Winfred Gandy

Memorial service for George Winfred Gandy, 81 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Celebration of Life Chapel. Dr. Jimmy Clanton will officiate. Mr. Gandy passed away March 31, 2022 at Camellia Gardens. Born April 6, 1940 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Wesley Gandy and Earline McLendon Gandy. On April 9, 1966 in Carrolton, Ga., he married Reba Huckeba Gandy, who survives. Mr. Gandy was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was an emeritus member of the Thomasville Masonic Lodge # 369. Other survivors include his daughter, Sherri Gandy of Rome, Ga., grandchildren, Davis Gandy, Morgan Gandy and Madlyn Gandy; sisters, Linda Sellers of Havana, Fl., and Kay Lamb and husband Lester of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ben Gandy, Emerson Gandy, Stan Gandy and Lavaughn Gandy and sisters, Shelby Thomas and Gail Hoke. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm, before the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
