George Robert Bobby Clifton

Funeral services celebrating the life of Bobby Clifton, 71, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike Keown will officiate and interment is in Rosewood Cemetery in Barwick. Mr. Clifton died April 18 at his residence. Born August 7, 1935 in Ocilla, he was the son of late Tommy Elliott and Eunie Melissa Giddens Clifton. On August 7, 1999 in Thomasville, he married Mary Pearce Clifton, who survives. Mr. Clifton was a retired maintenance man from TECT, he was also a member of First Newark Baptist Church. He served his Lord and Savior with such admiration. He was passionate about the Bible and he spent numerous hours reading and studying scriptures. A favorite pastime was having Bible studies with family and friends. He also enjoyed undertaking many task as a carpenter and made many beautiful wooden pieces. His labor of love extended to the outdoors where he loved to garden. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Beth Clifton of Walterboro, South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Bobby Chivers of Soperton; daughter, April Baggett of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jennifer Cox, Jessica Maness, Jase Daughtry, Cole Chivers; great-grandchildren, Cody Cox, Grace Ann Cox, Bailey Cox, Alexis Maness; sister, Margaret Lucille Drawdy of Thomasville; sister and brother-in-law, Martha Sue and James M. Woods of Lilburn; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Elliott and Stephanie Clifton of Beaufort, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA. 31792. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
