George Turner Davis, Jr.

Services for George Turner Davis, Jr, 85 of Ochlocknee will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Ochlocknee Baptist Church where he was a member. Interment will be in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away June 24, 2012 at Archbold Hospital. Born April 15, 1927 in Eastman, Ga; he was the son of the late George Turner Davis, Sr and Zora Stapelton Davis. He was married to Laura Ethel Lee Davis for 62 years who survives. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the US Air Force and the owner of George's IGA for over 50 years in Ochlocknee. Other survivors include his children, Gail Davis, Travis Davis Darlene and Daryl Davis Penny all of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Jeremy Davis Lisa, Christopher Davis Chelsea, Becky Humphries Curtis, Kim Lane Billy, Lee Mitchell, John Mitchell Jessica, Matthew Mitchell, and Fran Hood Donnie; great-grandchildren, Marie, Zachary, Charlee, C.J., Damien, KimBer, Logan, Nate, Caden, Addison, BreAnne and Trey; sisters, Pauline Wilson and Juanita Turner. He was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Lee Mitchell and brother, William "Billy" Davis. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
