Lucy Roddenberry McKown
Georgia Louise (Lucy) Roddenberry McKown, born March 7, 1928, departed this earth February 16, 2024, to be with her heavenly Father. Her parents, who pre-deceased her, are N. J. and Leedia Roddenberry, of Metcalfe, GA. Also pre-deceasing her are husbands, John Glosson Walker, Jr., William Joseph Murphy, Sr., and Crafton McKown, daughters, Kaye Walker Bruce and Bunny Murphy Ritchie, sisters Connie Sawyer and Helen Rezendes, and brothers Fondren, Cecil (Doc), and Doug Roddenberry. Survivors include children: Annette Walker Deason (Danny), Joe Murphy, Jr. (Gena), Gil Bruce, Mary Ann Morgan, and Jackie Rittenhouse (Ralph); brothers, Brent, N. J., Warren, Reggie, and Jim Roddenberry, and sister Jackie Rogers, along with wonderful sisters-in-law. "Nana" was loved dearly by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Thanks to a dear niece, Linda Demott, and friends, Dave Roberts, and Tommy and Debbie McCoy for always being available to help out. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Aucilla, FL. Before she retired and moved to Monticello, she was a long-time member of Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee, which always remained special to her. A graveside service is being planned.
